Do you find it difficult to focus on your work? You have been sitting for three hours now, but you could have finished this stuff easily in not more than an hour and you are wondering what the problem is. Let us tell you, food is responsible for your mood and energy. While sugars and Trans fat make you feel low and dizzy; a few types of food can not only boost your mood, but can also increase your concentration power. Here is a list of food items which are super effective to boost your brain power.

1. Avocado

Among all the fruits, avocados contain the highest amount of protein and lowest sugar levels, thus making it a wonder fruit. Avocados improve cognitive functions of the brain, i.e. memory and concentration. Owing to its creamy texture, avocado can easily be blended in healthy and tasty smoothies; so go on, enjoy the goodness of this wonder fruit!

2. Blueberries

A store house of antioxidants, blueberries are proven to improve concentration and memory. Another reason to pile on these all natural candies is that they stimulate the flow of blood and oxygen thus help to keep the mind fresh.

3. Water

Water gives the brain the electrical energy for all brain functions, including thought and memory processes. The brain does not have any way to store water, thus regular consumption of water is crucial. Moreover, brain cells need two times more energy than other cells in the body and water provides this energy more effectively than any other substance.

4. Dark chocolate

Satisfy your sweet tooth by munching on some dark chocolates. It contains a small amount of caffeine, which has been proven to heighten mental alertness. Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and it improves blood flow to the brain and the heart.

5. Green, leafy vegetables

Remember Popeye the sailor man and his obsession over spinach? There was a reason behind this obsession; vegetables like spinach, kale and chard are potent excellent foods for brain health. Moreover, studies have found that green leafy vegetables are effective to prevent or curb dementia.

6. Walnuts

Walnuts are rich in Omega-3 and vitamin E, which are proven to lower the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. They are also significantly effective in improving cognitive functions of the brain. Add this nutritious nut to your diet and notice the benefits!

Brain foods are rich in antioxidants, good fats, vitamins and minerals which provide energy and prevent brain diseases like Dementia.
